Derek Dorsett is most known for his time spent in the penalty box. People outside of Columbus hear his name and think “O That’s this season penalty minute leader.” This man is defnitely doing a great job defending his tough as nails title. Here’s something you don’t know about Dorse. He is a gentle soul.
Last night Dorsett proved that he is more than just punches and hard hits. I’ve heard stories about Dorse having a big heart yet I had never seen it. He seems to be the kind of guy who gives behind the scenes. Last night everyone got to see Dorsett’s big heart in action. He went out to the Pelotonia ceremony and on a whim decided he was going to ride 100 miles for cancer research. No one told him to do it. No one asked him to do it. Dorse just felt in his heart it was the right thing to do. Stick taps to you Dorse. Not many people would step up at the last minute and ride. You make me proud to be a fan of the Columbus Blue Jackets.Good Luck and please don’t get hurt we need you this season.
